Bands you wish would make one more album

Anyone have one particular band that either split up or simply went quiet that you wish would return for one or more albums

Mine right now would have to be 'Monty are I ' I have been listening to the two alums they put out a lot recently and they really are just excellent albums and a band that had a really unique but at the same time accessible sound

A few more for me off the top of my head would be Anberlin , The Magnificent and National Product

Would like to hear other peoples examples

Did you like Anberlin all the way to the end? I did, but to varying degrees towards the real end, and to be honest I kind of thought they were at the end of the line when they finished up.

Since 2000 here are 10 from me -

Marcello Vestry

Steelhouse Lane

Blind Date

Agreed!! I'd agree with Monty Are I too.

But my most of all, top of the world list would read like this;

Cauterize

Silly Fools

SR-71

Waltham or USA!USA!USA! (I'd take either)

Blessed By A Broken Heart

Poison (with CC and a big label production job)

Fallbrooke

Faber Drive

A Change Of Pace (with Tory Jasper back on lead vocals)

Just Surrender

The Sunstreak

Frontline

The Latency

No Love Lost or Star City Meltdown

I didnt like their last album , way too mellow for me but i loved vital and i do feel like they probably had at least one more great album in them

Yeah, I'd have loved one more great album from them, but I'm actually of the opinion they just didn't have it in them anymore. I liked all their work, but it'd be hard to argue that that they never got even close to 'Never take friendship personal' and each album afterwards was almost a small step in their decline. The mellower they got, the less interesting the albums got.

In all honesty, I actually truly believe Anberlin will be back one day. I just hope they come back as an uptempo modern rock band and not the vintage lounge music they went out on. Their first two albums are killer, and they had some amazing songs sprinkled throughout the rest of their career too. Great band.

Toby Hitchcock (solo)

You still fascinate me with this one. You know he is only as good as his song writer, don't you? You know Martensson made his debut album great... don't you? He was just a pawn in a project that he had absolutely no musical input in, whatsoever. ;) Sorry to be blunt mate, but he got extremely lucky... I'm just not sure he is the amazing talent you seem to think he is.

I hope the new album is good too, but if Martensson is not on board, odds are it'll be crap.

As far as I understand it, Hitchcock's input in that debut album was a voice. Other than that, I am pretty sure 100% of the album's other greatness was on the shoulders of other folk.

Well its most likely to be the staple Frontiers writers - combined with his vocals it should be great.

Have faith man.

I'm sure Frontiers will be looking for the songs to be in the same hard rocking vein as Mercurys Down

At the end of the day, if its shite its shite......can only hope tho.

I am actually of the opinion that new surrender is their best with NTFP coming a close second but i do agree that none of theor others came close to them two , except maybe vital

I really do hope they reform one day and like you said hopefully up tempo stuff, you really could make an amazing top 25 song compilation from their work

Yeah, definitely. Their top 25 songs would be absolutely excellent. Actually, of every single band I listen to, I was going to make a big compilation of Anberlin to bring up to my brothers' place when we next meet as we always struggle like hell to find some music to put on that at least one of us won't hate. I feel like Anberlin is the type of band that can soothe everyone. One of my brothers already actually kinds digs them. I'd thought of Anberlin and also Monty Are I, funnily enough. Certain crowd pleasers.

Bang Gang

Wow really? That's one record well 2 if you count that Vain Beat The Bullet album that I wish wouldn't have been made.

But opinions are like Camaro's right.

I'd like to see new stuff from these:

Sea Hags

Salty Dog

New American Shame

Teeze/Roughhouse

Saigon Kick

Protein

Heavy Pettin'

Junkyard (even though they are currently trying)

Zodiac Mindwarp

Britney Fox (w Dizzy Dean)

Lion

Triumph

TKO

Perennial

Culprit

The Cherry Poppin' Daddies

Gin Blossoms

Y&T

The Upper Crust

The Supagroup

Gruntruck (obviously can't happen)

Spread Eagle

Hanoi Rocks

Dweezil Zappa (Another Confessions or even the S/T please)

The Best Kissers In The World

Black N Blue

The Marvelous 3

Panic

Jellyfish

Balaam and the Angel

The Angels

Love On Ice

Electric Love Hogs

Hog

Ruth Ruth

The Tories

The Cunninghams (also not happening)

Big Drill Car

Roxx Gang

EZO

Havana Black

Fountains of Wayne

Local H

Mother Love Bone (another no way)

Sir Mix A Lot

Sweet Water

I'm sure more will come but those are a grip that came to me as bands I want more music from.
