Um... album artwork of the year, anyone?

Fuckin right! Breath taking...ala To Hell Angel Cover.

Yeah! Hopefully a vinyl release. It would look good next to my copy of the THWTD with the Angel cover.

The funny thing is, go back in the day and I probably would not have been to excited about a Stryper album as the only one I loved from start to finish was Against the law, but since their comeback I have loved everything they have done, so Stryper is now one of my most looked forward to bands. I loved the modern sound they came back with on Reborn, and the mix of modern and classic on Murder by prided was amazing. Loved their covers album as well.

The only one that didnt totally blow me away was Second coming, but that was mainly because it was re-recordings of songs from the era that wasnt my favourite.

Dammit, I haven't even gotten "Second Coming" yet and now they've got another album in the pipeline already? Who the hell do they think they are with this two-albums-a-year shit, KISS in the 70s? :D

But seriously: on the never-ending shopping list it goes... of course there are a few dozen other things in front of it... (SIGH)

I'm just the opposite. Reborn was just good and Pride was a step in the right direction. I love all of their early albums which is what made me such a fan to begin with.

Yeah, really looking forward to it too. 'Jesus is Just... man, he's just Alright.' is my new favourite song of 2013.

'Revelation' is solid but not mind blowing. 'No more hell to pay' is better but still not amazing. Jeez I hope these are all very, very rough mixed with regard to sound quality.

I'm sure the finished product will sound awesome - all Stryper discs are well produced so I trust this will be too. Jury's out on how great it'll be based on those 2 tunes.

Both tunes for those videos are awesome, especially the title track. Far out I love this band's sound, musically. So goddamn good.

Holy shite, this album fuckin ruuuuuuuulez.

How the fuck did Stryper ever get this good ??

Im stunned.

The last 5 songs in particular are gems amongst gems.

Definite contender for album of the year.

The only [slight] weak link for me is Marching Into Battle.

Definitely a very strong album and will easily finish in my Top 10 this year. I thought the ballad sucked, the chorus to "Saved By Love" was too repetitious, and "Marching Into Battle" just lacked ... something. But other than that, yeah, a totally kickass CD. My favorites are "Water Into Wine" (love that hook!) and "Sticks & *Stones." The "Holy Bumblebees" still got some sting in 'em!!

    • New song "Endless' (Toto cover).
    • No official release yet so don't know when exactly the album is supposed to come out but I'm assuming it's this year. I'm sure you're all brimming with excitement.
    • I posed him that exact question on his discord page as to what his future plans are.... He said he plans to relax for a bit, do his You Tube thing, keep writing new music and then will decide how to release that music.  He said as of now he's thinking he'll either do a solo thing or form his own band.  He didn't say this but I'd sort of envision a Daughtry type "band" where he kind of puts a band behind his name. So essentially, I think you're right on with his plans.  Ultimately, I think like you say, the control is a big part of it.  I think he wants to be able to operate on his own schedule to maintain his health and family obligations. It'll be interesting to see what sound the new material takes on.  It would seem logical to think it would be rock/melodic rock of some sort since that's really the type of music he's built his following with but he certainly has shown he can dabble anywhere from AOR to metal.
    • Glad I got to see them with Erik in front. All the best to him, definitely looking forward to his future outings when he is fully recovered. Would be cool to see him form his own band, where he could take control, and play around in different genres, from full on metal, to soothing AOR, the guy is so versatile.
    • Remedy - Crying Heart. One I've just seen thanks to the Iridium channel.  From the upcoming album. It's a Killer.
    • Let's not forget Benny Hill. What a Magnificent show that was.
    • Yeah... I dunno about that. It would be too cringe. Who knows? If I'm high enough, I might submit a video.
    • Yep great track and if you fancy being in the video for "The Feeling" nows your chance.
    • I'm proud to say that I had this single when I was a mere 8 years old. KISS were big down here then. Norman Gunston is Iconic for Aussies of my vintage.  The face ln the bottom left says it all. Hilarious.
    • All in all, this is a great story. Erik played a brilliant, well received, albeit short cameo with one of our favourite bands.  It was a win, win, win. A win for us, a win for Skid Row (the album certainly put them back on the map) and a win for Erik, adding this to his already impressive resume. The fact that it was so amicable with both parties is also great to see.
