Very very good disc and a step up in quality from 'A Messenger'. Nice and varied musically from the pop rock of 'More Of You' and 'Dare To Believe' through to the mega rocking 'Loud and Clear'. Very impressive indeed

Oh wow, this is awkward. I'm hearing a very, very different disc to you guys, sadly. :( I was really pumped putting this in the stereo - had massive hopes for it after enjoying his debut. I liked the initial vibe, but actually contrary to Jez's comment, as it went on I found this album to be SO one-dimensional. I actually felt like I was just listening to the same song over and over again, and the same completely non-existent hook. There is not really any song / chorus / melody / hook that stands out for me on this entire album. It's all executed well enough, but sits in a very, very safe place.

I can't even talk about the heavy christian lyrics ruining this, because the lack of good hooks beats it to the punch, hands down.

Anyway, I've done it again. Come off sounding super harsh. The album isn't awful - I was just really expecting a lot from this guy and I feel like this falls well short. My favourite song is 'Echo,' which is a good song despite it's moronic lyric "I wanna be an echo of you." Fuck me, mate, smarten up. Just let me slap your head with a trout. Please.

But yeah, there you have it... solid album, but in desperate need of some highlights.

I thought you would have really liked this one Mate. Personally I find it quite varied throughout and certainly not one dimensional. I think it's way better than 'A Messenger', which I did like a fair bit.

It's probably a more consistent album than 'A Messenger,' but I definitely prefer the best songs off the debut. As odd as it is, I often find myself stuck with 'You are' in my head. And there's nothing like that here, imo. There are a handful of good memorable songs on the debut. Maybe in time some of the new ones will stick, but at the moment it's just another solid but forgettable disc from a year of many. :(

Another one who is just going downhill with every release. I'm not mentioning this because I like the release, but just to let y'all know if you didn't already know that he's got another new one out. It's not horrible, but it's so "beige." Just safe, no real highlights... never pushes himself. But I dunno, maybe you like it more than I;

Mmmm i actually those 2 tracks might investigate this further, thanks for the heads up never knew he had a new album out.

When I posted them yesterday I did actually think maybe you and Karpetballs might like this one. Not saying you like shit music (well, Karpetass does, but that's another story), but it does have that "modern retro" feel you guys are loving, hey?
