KIX - Release Date

LV KIX

Recommended Posts

Looks like the newest studio release from KIX will hit the streets on July 22, 2014. It has been nearly 20 years since the last studio release. I have no doubt that this will be up to the standard that KIX set with releases like "Midnite Dynamite", "Blow My Fuse", and "Hot Wire".

The two songs I have already heard fit right in with old the old stuff... Can't wait for this one.

Midnite Dynamite was my first taste of these guys and I was hooked. Blow My Fuse is probably my favorite release by them. Would love to see them live. Have a few friends in the Maryland area that have seen them and say they still sound great.

I notice that this isn't being released by Frontiers. I wonder what happened there?

Frontiers released the "Live in Baltimore" release but is not releasing their new disc. Just found that odd.

April 16, 2014 -- Look for KIX-- Steve Whiteman (lead vocals), Jimmy Chalfant (drums, vocals), Ronnie Younkins (guitars), Brian Forsythe (guitars) and Mark Schenker (bass)—to release their first new album in almost two decades on July 22, thanks to their new partnership with Loud & Proud Records.

I'm really glad that they decided to do this. Their last one, Show Business, is quite enjoyable. And, of course, Blow My Fuse is one of the greatest albums of the genre.

Agree on all accounts.

Still say the S/T and Cool Kids are the best, but don't get all twitchy, Midnight Dynamite and Blow My Fuse are great too. MD being tastier imho. Even further said, even their worst is far superior to most bands...

They played "Body Talk" at M3, which was great! Steve said someone paid them to play it.

He said, "We got bribed. Someone paid us $1000 to play a song off our second album. We don't really like that one, but for a $1000, sure! So, just so you know, we do take requests."

It was an incredible experience. I'd seen 'em perform four times on the MOR Cruise, but this was a sold out show in their hometown. This was on a-whole-nother level.

:) Cool story. Kix is one of my really want to see live, but will never get back east bands...

I found this interesting:

Kip Winger commenting on tracks from Winger's new disc "Better Days Comin'":

Rat Race:

We've rarely done songs this fast. It was fun to knock it out. This one is right up Reb's alley, I like the fast paced heaviness and the lyric written by Donnie Purnell really fun to sing. With the harmony guitar solo and the Deep purple vibe, it makes a nice addition to our catalogue.

thought it was pretty interesting to see ex-Kix Donnie Purnell wrote the lyrics to this song. Wonder if this is a new lyric, or something old.
