polemic new additions!...

Well, first of all I'd like to say hello to everybody on this forum, as this is my first post.

I'm starting this topic because I think that although there are a few bands that probably don't fit in the HH database, they have certain albums that probably do. If Shania Twain is featured on HH, then I think this is by no means a silly idea! For example, I think that the Black Sabbath albums from the Tony Martin era should be added - hard rock at its best! Also, IMHO Helloween should be here and not at BrutalMetal, at least albums like Pink Bubbles, Chameleon and Rings.

In addition, I think that bands like Rasmus, Audioslave, Alter Bridge, or even Creed, should be here at HH, as they represent the commercial side of the new hard rock and make it possible to hear great riffs, solos, power ballads, etc. on the radio these days. They are HEAVY and they create some cool, classic rock HARMONIES.

I don't think this is a "nostalgia" site, so why not giving some space here for bands that express today influences from the great hard rock bands of the past...

Thanks for your time. HH rocks! :)

Audioslave? OMG NO!!!! Chris Cornell should have stuck with Soundgarden. Every track on that CD sounds the same, and that's NOT a good thing. HH should stick with what we the fans of MHR listen to. This site is great the way it is. Dan does a fantastic job. Creed, Alter Bridge, Audioslave, and all the other 'new' bands need to stay off this site. Too mainstream, too crappy. IMHO...of course. I also vote NO.

First, I must say... I don't believe that Audioslave or Creed should be on this site... or even exist for that matter... But I do believe that Howe may have a point regarding Helloween. Sometimes these lines between genres can be blurred.. and for the most part I believe that Dan does a great job with the site and the artists that are included. We could debate back and forth who we feel should be on the HH site. For example, If we include Brian Jack on this site, why not include Rod Steward and Lenny Kravitz. I can tell ya first hand that these two artists are among Brian's biggest two influences. As I said... Dan does a great job with this site. I'm sure it is is hard in many cases to decide what goes on this site.. but ya have to draw the line somewhere.

PS: I'm sure in many cases this can be a thankless job.. but there are also many here who enjoy the site and the conections made through this site.

Okay. I see everybody just hates Creed. Well, I'm not a big fan of their sound either. I just said "or even Creed", assuming it was probably a step beyond the limits of "what hard rock is all about." Audioslave and Alter Bridge sound like good hard rock to me, but okay, maybe this site is more about classic rock - hyperactive singer, guitar hero and stuff like that. Now, as for Black Sabbath with Tony Martin and Helloween, I'm not sure if they belong here, but I do know it sounds rather strange to see these names in a site called "brutal metal." That site should be the home for Trash and Death Metal bands. I see there's a lot of Melodic Metal bands at HH. Well, Helloween is simply the greatest Melodic Metal band ever!

Oh, and LV KIX, I agree with you when you refer Lenny Kravitz. Man, if Supertramp is in this site why should these bands be left out?

Anyway, Dan, thanks for your time. As you know, I'm a HH manic! :)

P.S. - I have nothing against Supertramp. I actually enjoy their music. "Hide In Your Shell" is an awesome song! It just doesn't sound too heavy to my ears!

The Rasmus, aren't they a finnish popband?

Just because they play electric guitars it don't mean it's hardrock.

How about adding E-type, eurotechno from Sweden.

He has both electric guitars and double bass drums, hell when I think of it he has even performed live with 6 bassdrums and 2 drummers playing simoultanisly (that was kinda hard to spell).

Put The Rasmus with Shania instead...

Those all represent the new sound, but not the new sound of Hard Rock, Creed Fckng blows, they just sound like a rip off of Pearl Jam who also Blows, Alter Bridge?? isnt that just Creed? without the showman, I do have to say I saw the Alter Bridge video and that guitar player actually played a Solo, a decent solo at that, but the song just sounded like all the other american generic garbage that is the real reason the music industry is going under, I havent bought a cd that I didnt import for 3 years, (accept Night Ranger the other day) you talk like that's the cutting edge of music and the only thing coming out now, stop!!!! JADED HEART, just came out, thats the cutting edge of music, no to be honest the cutting edge of music is a cd you should mabey check out, EDGUY-ROCKET RIDE, this is easily my favorite cd, and could be on the verge of becoming one of my favorite cd's EVER!!!! but you see there is one problem with Edguy that prevents them from being noticed in america, that problem is THEY HAVE MUSICAL TALENT AND ARE GOOD!!! so you'll never hear about them, unless you look for good music, so my point being just because it's the latest music in america doesnt serve as anything other then letting us know who to stay away from, america no longer sets any standard in music as far as hard rock, metal, or aor, and nothing angers me worst then somebody saying Creed is Hard Rock, or Limp Bizkit is Heavy Metal, they are garbage, feed to americans by the suits, as soon as america thinks for itself musically it will destroy those suits.
